Today I saw an excellent and inspiring movie called Invictus with the starring actors, Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. This movie is about how the South African people overcome the Apartheid Era. President Mandela does his best to re-unite his people and achieves this goal although he was highly criticized. Mandela unites blacks and whites leaving out the Apartheid Era with rugby and its Worldcup. This movie connects to the current events that are just about to happen. The world is going to unite on June 11 with the Fifa Soccer Worldcup, and although there is not such a big problem like the Apartheid; there are many problems throughout the world especially in Africa. This time it is not the President of South Africa that wants to unite, it is Joseph Blatter the president of Fifa that is trying to unite the entire world not mattering their color or race. I hope that every goal Blatter wants to achieve are fulfilled in this great event.

Today I saw the highlights of the great game between Germany and Australia in the official website of the Soccer World cup. This game ended four against zero with the winner being Germany. The highlights were narrated by a British man that had a really good, interesting and sometimes difficult accent to understand. Almost every word he said I could understand, but during the whole video I had to be carefully listening. The game of Germany against Australia could have became a historical game if the experienced striker, Miroslav Klose, would have scored in all the clear opportunities he had during the game. Miroslav is just at 4 goals of tying the world cup record of the amazing player Ronaldo of Brazil which has 15 goals in the FIFA World Cup History.

During this week I went one night with some friends to see the movie “Prince of Persia”. When I was on the way to the theater I thought that “Prince of Persia” would be an excellent movie with great actors and a very interesting plot. Unluckily for me when I entered the theater and the movie started I saw a film that had, in my opinion, a very boring and not interesting plot. “Prince of Persia” is a film with a very poor story and plot which is for me too fictional and not at all possible to happen. I and my friends had the same opinion about this movie that I expected it to be a great one.

The history of the soccer world cups through time is really amazing and interesting. During the last 60 years there have been heroes, villains, gods and killers of nations in the most followed sport in this planet. Today my family and I gathered in Metromedia to check some movies and read some magazines after watching Argentina’s game. A book attracted my interest it was obviously of sports and this sport was soccer. This book narrated the story of the world cups since they started in 1950, sadly I cannot remember the name of the book. After reading some parts of this documentary I realized what soccer meant to people. All over the world, especially in countries like Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany, etc. soccer is their life, world; something for what they would kill or commit suicide. Just one play, one goal, one win; can determine the end or start of a war, the happiness or sadness of millions of people and the glory or fail of a nation. This passion that many fans, like me, feel has a name and it is soccer.

A few days ago in HBO I saw a very inspiring and great movie called Gran Torino with the great actor Clint Eastwood, like Walt. This movie is about an old man which is a war veteran from Vietnam. Throughout the movie he protects a Hmong family and especially a teen called Thao from the neighborhood gangs. Walt’s wife just died, he lives very sadly and is only waiting for when his time comes. He has no social life, hates his sons and everyone that tries helping him. Walt starts involving with Thao and his sister, until they are very close. He protects this Hmong family even sacrificing his life so the gang members bullying Thao get into jail. This amazing story teaches us how badly gangs are affecting neighborhoods nowadays. It also tells us that you should always act wisely and protect the ones you love or the ones who care about you, in this case Thao and her sister.

Today I saw a great action movie called “Casino Royale” with the classic British action man, James Bond. This movie is about a new 007 in a mission to get a terrorist called Le Chiffre. During the movie Bond has many thrilling, adrenaline rushing scenes in which James fights against the bad guys obviously always winning. Also, like in every Bond movie there are many attractive chicks with this secret agent. At first, it was a little bit tricky trying to understand Bond’s British accent; but by the middle of the movie I could understand his as well as all of the other actors’ accents perfectly. I think now I am totally capable of going to England and understand British accent flawlessly.

Today my vacations to Orlando started; unfortunately it began with some complications and was a very tired trip to get over there. Our plane left at two in the morning from San Pedro Sula, my family and I were extremely tired from waiting for seven hours the plane. At last we got into it and after two hours we landed in Ft. Lauderdale where we would get a connection to Orlando. We had a serious problem, we only had one hour and thirty minutes to get that connections passing through immigration and customs. In immigration there was an enormous line of about 70 people and only 1 immigration agent attending us. Because of these reason many people became angry because they would lose their connection flights. After waiting for 45 minutes and becoming friends with some other people we passed to customs. We rushed through the airport to get our baggage and pass customs. We went to the airline counter left our baggage and then run to the top part were we had to pass security to get to the gates; we only had 30 minutes remaining. While we are making the line my dad and I see that one passport is missing, unluckily it was my visa passport. I had to run through the entire airport asking people if they had found a passport until I found it in the airline counter, I was saved. We went back to security and talk to the officers until they let us cut the line, only 10 minutes were remaining for the departure of the plane. I really do not know how but we passed security and run until the gate and we cached the plane. I was thankful that I could speak English because this saved me. This was a rather stressful experience, but the rest of the trip was really great.

Today I saw an excellent movie called Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz which are magnificent actors. This movie is about Roy Miller (Tom Cruise), which is a FBI agent protecting the zephyr (only energy source that never runs out) from the same agency and a Spanish arms dealer. At first June (Cameron Diaz) is not sure if Roy is the good or bad person, she evens turn Roy into the FBI. At last she finds out that Roy has been trying to protect her all along and she never trust him. She returns to Spain where she on purpose gets trapped by the Spanish arms dealer so Roy can save her. Roy and June go through all the city of Pamplona trying to find Simon Feck, a teenager who did the zephyr, which has been kidnapped by Fitzgerald which is a bad FBI agent. Roy and June find Simon and Fitzgerald dies on his plane, but during this encounter Roy gets shot and will probably die. June saves him and then when he is okay they escape into the Galapagos Islands. I really enjoyed this movie because it mixes action with comedy and also has some great actors that make the movie so much better.
